NOAA Announces to their Divers

To All NOAA Divers,   In response to several requests from NOAA divers for clarification on acceptable areas for diving in the Gulf of Mexico, the NOAA Diving Control and Safety Board sought advice from several agencies including the US Navy, EPA and NOAA's Office of Response and Restoration (OR&R).  Based on this advice, the Board decided to establish a "diving exclusion zone" extending 30 NM beyond the furthest boundary line shown in the 72-Hour Nearshore Surface Oil Forecast for the Deepwater Horizon (MC252) incident which is produced and updated daily by OR&R. As the boundary line may change daily, it is imperative that all NOAA divers wishing to dive in the Gulf of Mexico consult the OR&R webpage to view the projected location of the surface and near-surface oil over the next 72 hours and then extend it outward 30 additional … Read entire article »

Sinking BP shares ignite trans-Atlantic rift

This is what cutting corners to make a profit does. LONDON – The Gulf of Mexico oil spill risked turning into a trans-Atlantic diplomatic rift Thursday after U.S. threats to have BP fork out billions more for the disaster caused a precipitous slide in the blue-chip’s stock, hurting retirement savings for millions of Britons. My thought: Why tell us, tell BP. They are the ones who are responsible for this mess.  America, are you willing to give up your lively hood, your sovernty so  BP and Britons may feel good about their retirement and executives bonus’? British lawmakers are even pushing Prime Minister David Cameron to get President Barack Obama to tone down his stinging criticism of the oil company, complaining that the hostile rhetoric will have severe implications for pensioners with nest eggs in … Read entire article »

BP Consequences for Gulf Oil Spill

What do you think? What should be the consequences for the catasptrophe occuring off our shores for BP and US Government? Is a companies profits (Mngt bonus’) to come at the cost of our planet and its citizens? Should non stockholder of BP be made to pay for their mistakes of saving a buck to make a ton of bucks for BP, its stockholders? Who is BP being responsible to? Of course they’ll say, the stock holders. The shorting of processes came to save a buck and make even more $$’s just increase profits benefiting shareholders and management. Where did all that shortcuts get the rest of the world, especially all citizen directly affected by the spill? Did BP really make a profit from this catastrophic mess? Now, where did the spill get them and us? Is paying … Read entire article »

Solicite for Blackbeard as Jacksonvilles Newest 2010 Artificial Reef

I see the Jacksonville Offshore Fishing Club soliciting to have Blackbeard placed offshore Jacksonville, Florida as an artificial reef. Now that the cat is out. This is one of our next hopefulls. About one month ago, a team went to visit Blackbeard. I took video and pictures, while others surveyed the vessel. She’s in really great shape considering her age. Built back in the latter 1950’s, she served Mayport as a ferry to suttle motoriized vessles from one side of the St. Johns to the other. Today she sits and has been sitting for a number of years at the Green Cove docks along the intercoastal.  Here is a post from a member of the Jacksonville Offshore Fishing Club, JOSFC. http://www.firstcoastangler.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/topic/213/gonew/1.html We need your support and donations.
