Solicite for Blackbeard as Jacksonvilles Newest 2010 Artificial Reef
I see the Jacksonville Offshore Fishing Club soliciting to have Blackbeard placed offshore Jacksonville, Florida as an artificial reef. Now that the cat is out. This is one of our next hopefulls. About one month ago, a team went to visit Blackbeard. I took video and pictures, while others surveyed the vessel. She’s in really great shape considering her age. Built back in the latter 1950’s, she served Mayport as a ferry to suttle motoriized vessles from one side of the St. Johns to the other. Today she sits and has been sitting for a number of years at the Green Cove docks along the intercoastal.
