Made a trip out to Georgia today to visit Tuff-E-Nuff. TISIRI was onsite and I wanted to film some of the vessel and the work being performed. At around 5:00pm we get the news the method we were going to use to place the tug on dry land is broken. It will take a month to get it repaired. All worked stopped, things were packed up and we left the vessel. We must now find a way to get her to a location which she can be prepared as an artificial reef. We may loose this vessel. I think I found my pace, as far as meds goes. I’ve set up camp on my living room floor. This is where I spend most of my evenings and weekend days. On my back, with pillows as something to lean on. Today has been fairly relaxing. The pain in my back is under control at the moment and unless something dramtic happens, I plan on reporting less often on my injury. My next visit with the orthopod is Oct 7, 2010. My last visit the Dr. prescribed me a cane, a cane, can you believe this? It’s to help me with keeping falls to the floor at a minimum. Today, Thursday September 9, 2010 I visit the Orthopod to discuss the results of my MRI. Here is what I received: RADIOLOGY REPORT PROCEDURE: Multiplanarmultisequence imaging is obtained FINDINGS: The prevertibral soft tissue are normal in appearance. THere is marrow edema in the T12 vertibral body, and there is a slight depression of the superior endplate. This is consistent with an acute to subacute compression fracture. The posterior wall of the vertebral body is intact. The disks above and below this vertibral body appear normal. The L1-L2 and L2-L3 intervertebral disks are unremarkable. L3-L4: There is a decrease in signal intensity in the interverbral disk. Minimal posterior bulding of this disk is present. it’s been a few days since I last wrote on the subject of my injury. Last Thursday I phoned the Orthopod and described a number of symptoms I was experiencing. Headache, Cool sensation in the back of my head, loss of use of lower left extremedies. With this information I received a phone call stating the Dr. would like an MRI. That was scheduled the following day when I received a call asking when I would be available for the MRI. It was scheduled for Tuesday evening. Last night I went and had the MRI. Today, Wednesday September 1, 2010 I remained home. I was hurting and the pain meds keep me zonked. I have aheadache. Not sure why. Perhaps the lack of a consistent nights rest. I wake up all throughout the night. Each time my body needs to turn, I wake up. I wear my brace to bed. I found it seems to help. I believe I have it on too tight though yet when I loosen the brace, my trunk moves within the brace. I thought I was suppose to be one with the brace, so to keep my spine aligned. Today I visited an Orthopedic Surgeon regarding the Fracture Vertebrae I sustained August 20, 2010 while heading out to document Spikes progress from her placmement offshore Jacksonville, Florida July 2009. The team was heading out to produce some video and stills of her state when about 9 miles off shore we hit a hole in the ocean and the vibrations from the vessle being slammed down and into this hole was enough to break my spine.Here are a couple of shots from todays x-ray.
