KP Hole Swimming Closed
KP Hole swimming closed, but tubing, boating and scuba OK

DUNNELLON – KP Hole Park’s swimming area was closed by the county parks and recreation department after testing positive for higher than acceptable levels of bacteria.
The Marion County Health Department returned two positive tests for fecal coliform in the swimming area of KP Hole Park, 9435 S.W. 190th Avenue Road, Dunnellon.
The public may still go tubing, boating and scuba diving while the swimming area is closed. Signs will be posted when it re-opens.
Fecal coliforms are a variety of bacteria found in the feces of both humans and animals and serves as an indicator of more harmful pathogens in the water. E. coli is a type of fecal coliform.
