Support Marine Conservation With a Year-End Contribution

Our winter fundraising campaign is underway, and we would like to thank those of you have already donated. If you haven’t had a chance to make a contribution yet, it’s not too late – just click here now.

As a special thank you, individuals who make a contribution of $250 or more will receive this signed 11×14 limited-edition print of a spectacular coral grouper. Don’t miss your chance to get this 2010 print.

This year was full of amazing adventures! The following are some of REEF’s major accomplishments in 2010:

  • Expanded the Volunteer Fish Survey Project through an enhanced Field Station program, new home study courses, and increased public presentations throughout our project regions, as well as launching a new survey region in the South Pacific with an opening ceremony in American Samoa;
  • Continued the Grouper Moon Project, field research aimed at better understanding endangered Nassau Grouper spawning, which included monitoring spawning aggregations and acoustic tag tracking studies throughout the Cayman Islands to ensure long-term protections before legislation expires in early 2011; and,
  • Continued the Invasive Lionfish Program work by conducting extensive research, leading workshops to raise awareness, developing rapid response plans for dealing with the invasive fish in Florida, the Bahamas, and Caribbean; and publishing a Lionfish Cookbook.

Please donate to REEF today to help protect marine ecosystems for generations to come. Donating is fast, easy, and secure through our website. You can also call REEF HQ at 305-852-0030 to donate over the phone, or mail your donation to REEF, PO Box 246, Key Largo, FL 33037. On behalf of all of us at REEF, thank you for your support and your investment in REEF’s future – we couldn’t do it without you!

Best fishes and happy holidays,

Paul Humann
