This will effect Cozumel, Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Isla Mujeres.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_13_0_ym1_1_1386194080264_9252\" align=\"left\">\u00a0This\u00a0higher tax rate\u00a0is slated to take effect on January 1, 2014.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_13_0_ym1_1_1386194080264_9254\" align=\"left\">Most hotels are not allowing to prepay\u00a0to avoid the increase.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We have just been informed that the tourism tax for the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico is about to increase from 14 to 19%.
