Today, Sunday February 26, 2012 a first\u00a0person report of DECO, the Great White begin spotted in Ginnie Springs.<\/p>\n

The report today came in from the Divers Supply Jacksonville Dive Club.<\/p>\n

The post reads:<\/p>\n

“Kim Fair<\/a>\u00a0DECO lives!!!\u00a0\u00a0 First congratulations to Derrick and Daniel on successfully completing the rigors of the Rescue Diver course!!\u00a0 After completing RESCUE Checkout scenarios, a foray was made into the ballroom to search for the elusive Great White.\u00a0 We were not prepared\u00a0 to record our encounter, but after searching through out the cavern, DECO was found peering out prepared to pounce on unsuspecting divers.\u00a0 Our group remained calm and slowly backed out to the safety of the surface.\u00a0 DECO is there!!!”<\/h5>\n

“Larry Davis<\/a> Congratulations! Sounds like you found her. I will present awards at the team meeting for each of the those whose relenless spirit of persuit brought them to discover DECOs den! Congratulatons! Get\u00a0 a picture? :-)”<\/h5>\n

Kim Fair<\/a>\u00a0It was an unplanned event, so no camera.\u00a0 We were caught up in the moment and the team made the decision to brave the elements, put aside the fears of the unknown and descend into the area where previous reports of DECO had been made.\u00a0 Afte…r several un-succesful search attempts had been reported, we felt duty bound to validate the existence, and encourage future divers to be more fully prepared for documented encounters.”<\/h5>\n

There you have it. Our first round winners! Continue the search. You have until Saturday March 3rd to look for DECOs Den. After March 3rd, she will shift her view and be placed at a new location within Ginnie Springs. There is news of other Great Whites working their way into other springs.
