Today, Thursday September 9, 2010 I visit the Orthopod to discuss the results of my MRI. Here is what I received:<\/p>\n

RADIOLOGY REPORT<\/strong><\/p>\n

PROCEDURE<\/span>:<\/p>\n

Multiplanarmultisequence imaging is obtained<\/p>\n

FINDINGS<\/span>:<\/p>\n

The prevertibral soft tissue are normal in appearance. THere is marrow edema in the T12 vertibral body, and there is a slight depression of the superior endplate. This is consistent with an acute to subacute compression fracture. The posterior wall of the vertebral body is intact. The disks above and below this vertibral body appear normal.<\/p>\n

The L1-L2 and L2-L3 intervertebral disks are unremarkable.<\/p>\n

L3-L4: There is a decrease in signal intensity in the interverbral disk. Minimal posterior bulding of this disk is present. This does not cause significant mass effect on the thecal sac.The neural foramina are patent.<\/p>\n

The L4-L5 and the L5-S1 intervertebral disks are unremarkable.<\/p>\n

IMPRESSION<\/span>:<\/p>\n

1. There is compression fracture of T12 without involvement of the posterior wall. The anterior wall is depressed approximately 25%.<\/p>\n

2. Degenerative disk disease at L3-L4 with minimal of the intervertebral disk.<\/p>\n

Here is an MRI picture of the spine. You are look at it from a side view. I circled the fractured area.<\/p>\n

I will continue to wear the brace for approximately 4 more weeks. I was provided with a cane if needed. I have a follow-up Oct. 7, 2010. I am hoping at that time I am on the downside of this injury and will hear 4 more weeks before I am released to do as I please, which means diving! Any volunteers to help manage my equipment down to and into the water and gear handling from the water to the vehicle? \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
