This WOW Tour is for divers wishing to experience diving in the Philippines.

This WOW tour introduces you to some of the best the Philippines has to offer. There are many places in the Philippines to visit that are exceptional and we have chosen some of the best, easily accessible for a two week tour.

Hello, my name is Larry Davis. I travel the world shooting underwater film and stills. I create documentaries. I have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to travel the planet. With over 35 years of travel under my belt there is one thing I’ve come to realize, no matter where you go on this planet, there is always something beautiful to find, wonderful people to meet, good food to eat and sites to see. I love exploring, meeting and making friends yet most of all I love Diving, Filming, and Photography.

During my travels I have met many wonderful people in so many beautiful places. Of all the places visited, the Philippines have become one of my favorite to revisit, especially for its diversity for diving. Your diving experiences during this tour will lead you to the large Pelagic to macro species and all size species in between. The tour doesn’t just lead you to the water. There are land based opportunities for you to enjoy as as part of your package, all of which are totally optional to attend. I encourage you to take these side trips. The experiences and memories will live for a life time.

You are cordially invited to go on an adventure with me. You just need to show up and enjoy the adventures. I personally experienced everything that is offered in this trip. I did all the logistics so you may relax and experience the joys and wonders the Philippines have to offer. If this is your first trip, you will have a good start in learning some of the best the Philippines has to offer. If this is a repeat trip, you may experience sights you’ve never experienced before. No matter which, the experience you gain from this tour will be a door opening introduction to some of the sights and sounds the Philippines has to offer.

Your first step is to commit to no less than 2 weeks. You are after all traveling half way around the world. From the states this one of the easiest regions to travel to yet it is still a distance for most. Your next commitment is the down payment to secure your spot for the 13 nights WOW tour.

Why Join This Trip?

✓ Led by travel, dive and photography expert Larry Davis. Larry has personal experience and knowledge of all the places we plan to go and see

✓ Fantastic itinerary covering the best dive sites around Moalboal, Dauin and Cabilao with opportunities to travel to Kawasan Falls, Oslob, APO island, and Bohol

✓ Stunning and highly diverse diving: lush coral gardens, dramatic seamounts, sardine runs, whalesharks, schools of fish, sharks, muck diving, and much more

Side trips to:

✓ The majestic turquoise waters of Kawasan Falls

✓ Oslob where you will snorkel or dive with the whalesharks

✓ Diving the renowned APO Island

✓ A scenic view of the hundreds of Hershey kiss shaped Chocolate Hills

✓ Scout for the worlds smallest primate, known as Tarsiers

✓ River Cruise with Lunch

✓ Butterfly farm

✓ Spend time at a local market

and more.

Your Tour begins May 25th 2019 in Cebu City where we turn our sights towards Moalboal

MOALBOAL

Moalboal, pronounced mo-ahl-bo-ahl you spend five nights, up to four and a half days diving, with an opportunity to visit Kawasan Falls
As a group, we will make the request to visit the small island of Pescador just a couple of miles due west of Moalboal. This world- famous island located a few kilometers off the southern tip of Negros Oriental, never fails to amaze divers with its rich community-protected marine life. Apo Island is located 30 kilometers south of Dumaguete City and is known for its spectacular scuba diving sites found all over the island. It is one of the best sites for scuba diving. Here are the famous diving sites in Apo Island.

Apo Island Marine Sanctuary and Protected Seascape Located at the southwest part of the island, the protected Marine Sanctuary is one dive site you should not miss. It is a home to a lot of clown fish, along with turtles and giant clams. It is a home to many fish species, including manta rays, black and white snappers, angelfish, and flounder.

Coconut Point. Coconut point is located at the northwest part of the island that features different varieties of soft corals. It is famous for its schools of jacks, as well as barracudas, white tip reef sharks, and Vlaming Unicornfish. Because of the strong current in this area, only advanced divers can dive at Coconut Point.

Chapel’s Point. At the western side of the island is Chapel’s point. Here you will find interesting marine life sightings of various species of corals, sponges, and gorgonian sea fans. Fish species found here include tuna, black and white snappers, and barracuda.

Rock Point. Rock point is at the southern tip of Apo Island. Water can be rough here, but marine life is also rich and spectacular with rock formations and corals in the area. You can find black and white tip sharks here in Rock Point, as well as moray eels, Picasso triggerfish, and black and white snappers.

Mamsa Point. Mamsa Point is found at the eastern side of Apo Island. You will find varieties of jacks in the area, where the diving site got its name from. Mamsa is the local term for jacks. Aside from jacks, you will also see different types of groupers, lionfish, scorpion fish, as well as black and white tip reef sharks.

Aside from diving, you can also enjoy snorkeling in Apo Island. You get to encounter different species of marine animals and see beautiful corals. You can even swim with the turtles in shallow water, which you can find the southwest part of the island.

Next a Trip to Oslob where you will dive with WHALESHARKS yes whalesharks! Have you ever been in the water with these gentle giants? It’s amazing. They’re small, their big, their graceful and friendly. If you have never been in the water with whalesharks, this trip will burn memories into your mind. This is a must do trip. I would recommend a wide angle lense for these fellas..

You are now about 2/3 the way into your trip and there is more to come. However, most of the distances on Cabilao island are quite short, you can easily walk them. The lack of roads also means that everything on the island has to be brought in by banka (local outrigger boat). The triangular shaped 7.2 square kilometer island is situated at the west side of Bohol, facing Cebu Island. Cabilao consists of five barangays (villages), Talisay, Cambaquiz, Looc, Pantudlan, and Cabacongan. Its about 5200 friendly inhabitants survive on fishing, tourism, some small agriculture and weaving of bags. The island is the home to Bohol’s only natural lake, Lake Lanao, near the barangay Pantudlan, which also serves as a small bird-sanctuary for passing by migrant birds.

June 6th is your last full day on your tour. You may spend the day performing morning dives or spend the day off gassing, readying for your departure from the Philippines on June 7. What is in store for you this day is a trip that takes you exploring Bohol. Bohol is the larger island east of Cabilao.

From the boat, you will head off in search of tarsiers, to a scenic view of the chocolate mountains, a butterfly farm, visit historic sites and possibly a river cruise with lunch and more.

Tarsiers, they are any haplorrhine primates of the family Tarsiidae, which is itself the lone extant family within the infraorder Tarsiiformes. Although the group was once more widespread, all its species living today are found in the islands of Southeast Asia. Make sure you have your camera with telephoto lens or zoom. The hills are spread over an area of 50 square kilometers or more and vary in size from 30 meters to 120 meters in height.

The Chocolate Hills appear to be seemingly endless when viewed atop the hil.
